Decoding Courtly Dress in Tudor and Restoration England Jacqui Ansell Saturday 05 October 2019

"Know first who you are; and then adorn yourself according"  (Epicitus 50 - 135 AD)  This was never so important as in the Tudor and Restoration periods.

Two lectures on a Saturday morning at THe Clockhouse, Chapel Lane, MILFORD, GU8 5EZ.  Reception and refreshments at 10:00, First talk starts at 10:30.  There will be an interval with coffee or tea and Tudor sweetmeets before part 2.  Event concludes at 13:00 hrs.

Lecture 1:  Pins and Poking Sticks - Decoding dress in Shakespeares time.

Lecture 2:  Big Wigs: Splendour at Court in the age of Samuel Pepys.
