The Heritage Volunteers in West Surrey help to conserve and protect local heritage.  Projects are run by individual West Surrey Arts Societies with the participants drawn chiefly from those Societies.  Current projects include making replica period costumes for children to try on while visiting a local National Trust property.  Another example is the maintenance of ecclesiastical textiles at Guildford Cathedral; this project is being run jointly with members from East Surrey Area.  There are a number of galleries, museums and properties in our Area where volunteers help with a variety of activities.

If "Heritage" is your passion and you would like to make a difference, this might be a fulfilling role for you?  Some projects are short term schemes to achieve specific goals; others may be ongoing and in some cases our volunteeering relationship with the venue have been running for many years.

To participate as a "Heritage Volunteer" please speak to your own Society's Heritage Volunteer representative.  Alternatively you may use the form on the "Contact Us" page of this website which will be directed to the West Surrey Area Heritage Volunteering co-ordinator who will help get you in touch with a project to suit your talents and location.
